The RaceQuip PRO20 Side Air is a Snell SA2020 rated full face auto racing helmet that incorporates contemporary styling with modern production techniques. These helmets are also sometimes called forced air, blower, or pumper helmets because they have a provision on the helmet to attach a fresh air hose. The shell is built using composite materials placed into pressurized steel molds to achieve the best combination of light weight and strength. Reinforced M6 threaded HANS/HNR inserts are mated to the shell along with an expanded polystyrene (EPS) liner. HANS or other Head and Neck Restraint device anchor posts (not included) can be easily attached to the outside of the helmet using the installed M6 threaded inserts. Forced air is plumbed into the left side of the helmet through a standard 1.250" barbed fitting so air flows across the face shield from left to right for cooling and anti-fogging. The distortion free 3mm polycarbonate face shield features a red anodized aluminum pivot kit, hand ratcheting Tear Off posts, and a silicone eye port gasket to seal out dust and dirt. A wide eye port provides good peripheral vision and allows the use of personal eyewear. The Snell SA rating means that the Nomex interior and paint are fire retardant as well as the Kevlar chin strap. NOTE: This helmet is Snell SA2020-certified and is broadly accepted by race organizing bodies and tracks through 2030. Always verify safety rules with your sanctioning body.
